Founder and Executive Director
Chris Field is the Founder and Executive Director of Mercy Project. He traveled to Ghana for the first time in August 2009 and has since been on a mission to bring new life to children in slavery as well as empower those around him to make the world a better place.
Chris began school at Texas A&M and graduated from Abilene Christian University with a degree in Christian Ministry in 2006. He completed his Masters in Christian Ministry in the spring of 2013.
Chris and his wife Stacey have been married since 2005. They have four children – Famous, Micah, Beckett, and Lincoln. Chris is a gifted speaker, avid runner, and inspirational world-changer.
Gretchen Nickson is the Creative Director for Mercy Project. She began volunteering in 2009 and moved from Dallas to join Mercy Project full time in December 2011.
Gretchen graduated from Abilene Christian University with a BFA in Graphic Design and oversees all aspects of creative work, design for fundraising events, and marketing and promotional details. She is also a gifted photographer and took most of the pictures on our website.
When she’s not working, Gretchen enjoys running, spending time outdoors camping and hiking, and drinking way too much coffee.
Dan is the Race Director for the BCS Marathon Race Series, specifically the Baylor Scott & White Marathon + Half Marathon, Mercy Project’s premier fundraising event of the year. He grew up in the Los Angeles area, studied at Mt. San Antonio College, and went to broadcasting school in Hollywood. After working as a DJ at radio stations in the LA and Little Rock areas, Dan moved to College Station in 2012 to open Brazos Running Company.
An avid runner and triathlete, Dan has been married to his lovely wife Janine for 23 years. They have 4 fur kids – 2 cats and 2 dogs – and enjoy all things outdoors, camping, and hiking.
